Does this work? Is it worth the time, energy and financial cost?<\/p>\n<p>The short answer is definitely &#8216;yes&#8217; to all of the above. There is a large body of research that demonstrates that psychotherapy is effective in helping reduce depression, and \u00a0anxiety and relieving emotional suffering in general. \u00a0The mindfulness approaches which I use in my practice can help prevent relapse for those who have recurrent depression. Mindfulness is also a great way to increase your psychological flexibility.<\/p>\n<p>My colleague Pauline Wallen has written a brief article about some of the other benefits of -therapy.
